On Sunday February 21^st 2016 we once again headed to Ilaunmore for our last trial of the 2015/2016 season, by kind permission of Mr.Michael Manke. Our Judges for the day were Willie Edgar (A) and Mick Finglas (B), who had stepped in with short notice due to John Keeshan being ill.

Willie White took control and done an excellent job of Stewarding us around the Island and with his local knowledge and management of both lines he was able to keep us in touch with game at all times.

Due to the fact that we were late in February the birds were a lot more scarce than we had been accustomed to earlier in the season. However with a good show of rabbits thrown in, this turned out to be an excellent trial as all dogs had to work hard to produce their game.

Danny Bourke, Ricky Cashin, Eoin Lowry & Pat Brennan were our team of Guns who dealt with the game extremely safely, however Pat had to put up with a bit of lighthearted slagging when he was little bit off target on a couple of occasions.

When the Judges had gone through the card and finished making up their books, they called four dogs for a run off. All eyes were on this to see who would end up with the upper hand.

We returned to the cars for the presentation where the Judges said that this had been an extremely high quality trial which they had been honoured to Judge.

The Hon. Secretary announced the results and the handlers placed 1^st – 4^th were presented with various types of dogfood which was very kindly sponsored by KRONCH.

As the dog placed 2^nd Ainninn Susie had gained enough points in the field towards her title of Field Trial Champion, she had to complete a water test.

This was a great achievement for owner Benny Ryan who won this Club’s Novice last December and went on to win 2 Open stakes and be placed 2^nd in 2 more all graded excellent.

As this was the last trial of the season the Chairman, Pat Brennan and the Hon. Secretary thanked the Host, Sponsor, Judges, Competitors, Committee and everyone who helped and supported the Club during the year.
