We held our last Open Stake of the 2014/2015 season, on a lovely crisp morning on Sunday January 4th 2015 in the unique setting of Ilaunmore, by kind permission of Mr.Michael Manke. Judges for the day were most of the Officers of the Club, Chairman – Pat Brennan (A), President – John Keeshan (A), Vice Chairman – Sean Moriarty (C) & Hon. Secretary – Ivan McAlister (C). The Steward of the Beat was Mr. Vincent Kyne who directed us to the shoreline where there was a steady supply of game for all dogs. This was dealt with by a very safe team of Guns. We were sponsored by Jon Binley, who has been a very good friend of the Club over the years. When the Judges came together at the end of the trial to make up their books there was a clear winner with two dogs being called for a run off for 2nd and 3rd place. Unfortunately the run off did not go according to plan for one of the dogs and he was eliminated.
We returned to the comfortable surroundings of Kennedys Bar in Puckane village for the results, where the winner was presented with the North Tipp. Working Gundog Club Perpetual Cup and a beautiful stick which had been made by Eamon Devaney to mark the 10th Anniversary of the Club.
Jamie Cahill and Clodahill Nell were the Winners and this win made the bitch up to Field Trial Champion.
