This Open Stake was our first trial of the 2014/2015 season and was held on Monday 17th November 2014 on Ilaunmore by kind permission of Mr.Michael Manke. As the island had not been functioning for the 2013/2014 season it gave us great pleasure to see it up and running as good as ever. Judges for the day were Mark Stewart (A), Des Donnelly (B) and Vinnie McCarthy (C). The Steward of the Beat was Vincent Kyne who brought us to into the game crop for the day, he was very well assisted by Committee member Willie White whose knowledge of both the island and what was required for the dogs made everything run effortlessly. The birds were surprisingly jumpy for November which led to some dogs having to work longer to get their finds in the crop. The Guns, Ed McAuley, Mick McAuley, Tom Brennan and Ricky Cashin all shot extremely accurately and safely for the day. We were kindly sponsored by Jon Binley and Massbrook Petfood and it was great to see our long standing association continuing with them.
