On Sunday 2nd December 2012 we made one of our Annual pilgrimages to Ilaunmore to run a Novice by kind permission of Mr.Michael Manke. Judges for the day were Norman Blakeney (A) & Pat Brennan (A). The Steward of the Beat, Vincent Kyne took us to the shoreline as he felt that the game-crop might be a bit too heavy in places for the Novice dogs.
This trial always attracts a good entry with 16 dogs and 6 reserves on the card this year, all being made up of a mixture of newer handlers and some of the more experienced handlers on the circuit. Our good friends at Massbrook Petfoods kindly came up with our sponsorship again.
At the end of the day the Judges had a pretty quick deliberation and four dogs were called for water. Back at the cars the Hon. Sec. announced the result as follows, with the Winner taking away the “Open Season” Novice Perpetual Shield.
