This Open Stake was held on Wednesday 18th January 2012 in some of the superb woodland of Lough Cutra Castle by very kind permission of Lady Gwynne –
Jones, Mr. Don Walsh & The Shooting syndicate. Judges for the day were Tim
Crothers (A), Pat Brennan (A), Tony O’Brien (C) and Jon Binley (C). To ensure
the event was a success, the Steward of the Beat Paul O’Brien who was helped by
the Gamekeeper Simon Proben did their very best to keep us supplied with enough
game. As with most Trials there were a number of hard luck stories, but the dogs
which were left sorted themselves out to give us an eventual winner. Jon Binley
and Massbrook Petfood were our usual sponsors and we are extremely grateful to
them for the support they give us throughout each year. The winner was presented
with the “North Tipp. Working Gundog Club” Perpetual Cup. We were very well
supported with both competitors and spectators and the Club would like to thank
everybody who gave up their time in the middle of the week to make the day a
success .
